In a sea of re-releases, re-re-releases and limited editions, it can be easy to get lost in the world of trainers. So, thank Adidas Originals for cutting through the noise with a brand new model. Not a reimagining, not a new colourway – an actual never-before-seen trainer. Meet: the Swift. Drawing inspiration from running treads of the 1980s, Three Stripes’ latest debut boasts a full Primeknit upper in four colourways, with added Torsion support for greater comfort and an EVA midsole. Which may not sound all that original, but retro references mixed with a minimalist lean make the Swift a head turner that stands apart from the brand’s current roster. Old may be gold, but new is most certainly bold. Available from 27 July from Adidas, priced from £69.95.
